It can be said that Estonian line dancing was born on 27 October 1997 when it was first taught in public at the Guitar Safari in Tallinn. Since then, line dancing has been taught on regular basis and spread all over the country.
This universal dancing style that comes from America is popular all over the world. As line dancing does not require a partner or preliminary dancing skills, the style has won over both the youth and the older generation.
These days, line dances are danced to a variety of music styles, thus it provides everyone with a wonderful opportunity to dance to the music they like the best.
There are thousands of line dances in the world. Therefore, the choice is practically unlimited: there are easy dances one can learn fast, but there are also very complicated ones, mastering of which requires preliminary dancing skills, training your body, etc. This way, line dancing offers everybody - the young and the old, beginners as well as advance dancers - a fair chance to dance.
It is a splendid combination of entertainment and practice that gives a pleasant workout, improves one's co-ordination and the sense of rhythm, and enables to go in for exercise without being bored.
I believe any type of dancing is always a very positive form of activities. There is - or can be - nothing negative about it! Best wishes - and see you on the dance floor.
